We have been using Ring Central for…

We have been using Ring Central for about 2 years. The good thing is the general convenience of VOIP calls which allow texting and faxing from computers. THE BAD FAR OUTWEIGHS THE GOOD. DO NOT USE this system! The phone system itself is very complicated with the only instructions coming from YouTube videos. If you have any questions or problems, there is not even a chat for support. No phone numbers for support and the only message we have sent that has been answered was in such poor English that is was not discernable. We will be canceling our contract as soon as it has expired and will hopefully be able to find a company that can assist us with difficult tasks such as Voice Mail. STAY AWAY from this phone service, it has cost us clients and caused hours of FRUSTRATION!

RingCentral contract is rip off. Do not…

RingCentral contract is rip off. Do not sign up with this company. Because of COVID and other economical reasons we have had to reduce our headcount in order to stay in business. Ring central is not willing to reduce the number of lines we originally signed up with and if we cancel and shut down our business they will still go after us with a cancellation charge. They have no problem charging us for phone lines we don’t use but if we increase phone lines they would charge us for additional lines. They locked me in a 2-year contract that I have to pay for lines I will not use.

This company’s sales rep misled us…

This company’s sales rep misled us into a plan that does not match our needs and locked us in to a multi-year automatically renewing contract. We’re a company of less than 10 users with basic phone system needs. They misled us into an enterprise plan suited for 1,000 users with full integration into several third party programs. They offer no recourse for changing our plan to something that matches our need, requiring that we pay the full plan amount in order to switch to something better suited to our company. The technical support is mediocre, the phone system is reliable but eccentric, and the company’s sales practices are abhorrent. Do not recommend.

My company has been a RingCentral…

My company has been a RingCentral customer since 2015. We replaced our legacy PBX system and never looked back. Today, we have 300 lines of service and almost 400 other users worldwide mainly in the US, Europe, and Asia. The product is easily managed and fully featured. We initially used RingCentral primarily for voice calling. However, in the age of Covid, we’ve relied heavily on video meetings. We have had a very good relationship with our RingCentral team from the start which includes a standing bi-weekly meeting to address any concerns. The support center quality and response has varied over the years but has recently been excellent. All issues are addressed and escalated as necessary. They admit when there is a bug and work to resolve it. Although the price is high, RingCentral have worked with us to find ways to reduce the overall cost. The two areas that need improvement is the ability to remove lines of service and the federation of multiple accounts. It is very easy to add lines of service but you are tied in to the contract term once you do. One problem with federation is that the RingCentral App does not provide for 4 digit extension dialing with name lookup to federated accounts.

The biggest advantage I get from…

The biggest advantage I get from RingCentral is the ability to pickup a phone call either from my computer desk or my cell phone. As an Engineer, I am frequently called away from my desk to check on things in the shop. When called away, I bring my cell phone and know I am not going to miss any calls from customers, suppliers or fabricators. I don’t have a lot of voice mail messages that I have to listen to and make return calls. Plus, when I should happen to get a voice mail message, it is converted to text which I can read quietly to myself. Second advantage to me, is the ability to direct message co-workers which they can read when they have time available. I don’t interrupted co-workers at inappropriate times.

International call rates

Now, the Essential plan ($19.99/user/month) should cover the basics for modern phone systems, however, you’re limited to 10 users, 100 toll-free minutes per month, and you miss out on some of the features. The Premium plan ($39.99/user/month) will get you access to all features, but you don’t get as much user access & free minutes as with the Ultimate plan ($49.99/user/month).

As we can see, the more expensive plan offerings allow businesses to host more members in meetings, more toll-free minutes, and access to more advanced features such as multi-site support, CRM integration, automatic call recording and more.

Additionally, businesses can expand their system with additional local phone numbers at these rates:

  • Advanced — $19.99/user/month

  • Unlimited inbound and outbound US calling: Plus great rates on international calls.

  • Mobile App: Available for iOS and Android.

Editor’s Bottom Line of RingCentral

With more than 350,000 small business customers, RingCentral has been a favorite among VoIP review sites, and with more than 2,500 employees the provider continues to innovate both with its in-house team and by making deals with smart companies.

One of the best moves it made was partnering with Zoom, enabling HD quality video conferences with large numbers of participants. Formerly, this was only available with huge hardware, some of which even required a dedicated room. Now laptop or tablet is all you need.

That offering was a game changer that few other providers could compete with. RingCentral has had a big head start over today’s VoIP startups, yet the company is always looking forward rather than resting on its laurels. Every few years, the provider finds a way to reinvent itself and stay fresh.

It’s hard to say anything bad about RingCentral, but they do seem a little vanilla – vanilla, of course, is the most popular flavor of ice cream, so that’s good for most. RingCentral tends to avoid the bleeding edge and sticks to software and hardware with a proven track record.

If you want a great VoIP experience, you can’t go wrong with this company.
